This is the Q-K Raffle quilt for the North Shore Quilter's Guild. It was designed by my good friend, Judy Martin, "kit-ted" by me, pieced by several members in the Guild, and I quilted it on my long arm. It is for our show in two weeks..Much Ado about quilting! we have art quilts, art bras, kids art and 200 quilts in the show..if you want more information you can check it out at our website: www.northshorequiltersguild.org

Hot Poppy Summer

This is my "fracture" quilt, Hot Poppy Summer" developed from Ellen Adam's Shattered Quilt technique. It is featured in an article in American Quilter's Magazine, Summer issue. Fun technique that uses identical repeats and an offset method to explode the image.

Monday

Spent the morning trying to unpick a large section of quilting with tension issues but had to go to the real world to work before I was done. The quilt is for a customer and looks great except where the rainbow thread went beserk! Will post a pix of this very nontraditional Tumbling Blocks quilt if the customer OKs it..very cool in batiks.

Monday 4-24-06

Today is a quick day in the studio and then off to the real world to work. Am presently working on a tumbling blocks wall hanging for a customer...48 x 65" but done in batiks and a different fabric per diamond in three colorsways...very well done. With the wool batt, the piece is taking on a whole different look than a baby's quilt. Quite sophisticated. I will ask her for permission to post when I get done.

Studio Day

Today is a day for the studio..it is dark and rainy here after three days of sunshine and being outdoors. Trying to get a few customer quilts out the door this week. Small quick quilts on the long arm, then my new piece: Petal Pixels. It is large, 80 x 98 inches so that will take a few days..then binding; just in time for our Guild's quilt show the second week in May!

Silk Fusion

This is a piece I did for a silent auction for professioanl artists at the Creative SHARP "Novel Event" to raise money for a literacy program here in town. It is a small piece: 28" x 38", micro-quilted with black silk thread, with silk fusion (felted silk) on a background of purple/orange iridescent dupioni silk. The quilt was sewn on to a piece of olive green tufted taffeta and framed in a metal black frame.

First pix of a Quilt!

This is the latest in the new line of quilts for BBD Creations, Inc. This piece was exhibited at the International Quilters Association's (IQA) Chicago Festival, 2006. It is called Quilter's Covenant. A fun, freezer-paper applique with simple machine piecing for the borders. You can't see it here but there are crystals in the night sky that flash as the light hits the matt black background. It is 48 x 56 inches and compliments the date book that BBD Creations has in their stationery line. If you wish to see more link to www.bbdcreations.com.

head shot
